At Highlands High School (HHS) the B.E.S.T Team is comprised of the school Principal, Vice Principal, ROTC Teacher, Special Education Teachers, Guidance Technicians, Parent, Counselors, English Teacher, Parent Coordinator, Community Member, P.E Teacher, Teacher Librarian, and Program Specialists.

B.E.S.T is based on the Positive Behavior Interventions & Strategies (PBIS) Model. The focus is a proactive approach to school-wide discipline and aims to:

  • Provide a clear system for all expected behaviors
  • Create and maintain a productive, safe environment
  • Establish clear expectations
  • Make data-based decisions
  • Provide positive behavior interventions & support
  • Enhance student academic & social success
